
Welcome to The Old Library—a peaceful and stylish guest house nestled in the charming village of Fyfield. This self-contained, fully equipped hideaway features luxury bedding, thoughtful touches, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Ideally located, you're just a short drive from the historic city of Oxford and the scenic Cotswolds—perfect for a relaxing escape or a countryside adventure.


Nestled on the grounds of a former vicarage and bordering a picturesque village church, The Old Library offers a peaceful and private retreat. Inside, you'll find a spacious open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a serene bedroom featuring a king-size bed. For larger groups, a high-quality sofa bed is available in the living area.
Upstairs, a cosy mezzanine nook provides a perfect spot to relax with a book or catch up on work at the small desk space.
Guests have private access via an electric gate and gravel drive, with ample off-street parking right outside the guest house. A 7kW EV charging point is available for use at a flat fee—ideal for electric vehicle drivers.
The Old Library shares a large gravel driveway with our family home, so you may occasionally notice us coming and going during your stay. Please note that the garden is part of our private space and not included in the guest area, although we may be able to offer access on occasion.
For your safety and peace of mind, there is a security camera on the exterior of the main house which also covers the driveway and guest parking area.
Just a 30-minute drive from the property, the Cotswolds—England’s largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—offers a perfect day out. Discover honey-stone villages like Burford, Bibury, and Stow-on-the-Wold, browse local markets, or enjoy walks through rolling hills and scenic trails. Just a short drive from the cottage, Oxford is a fantastic place to spend the day. For a relaxing moment, don’t miss the Oxford Botanic Garden—the oldest in the UK—set right in the heart of the city.
